Jack's Birthday party 12/23/12

Jacks 2nd birthday

So we celebrated jacks 2nd birthday at the Story’s house during our Christmas break from VCU. We had a great time especially since Jack was old enough to interact with everyone and understand that the party was centered on him. Dave, Kymm, Kyndra, Eric, Cloey (+shAy,sheeB), Dad, Jason, Jenny and Natalie were all there. Hudson joined us in mom’s belly and J.R. showed up later. We had a whopper cake that Terryn made, that was very difficult to cut and eat, but it was quite delicious. We had dinner with everyone, umm- sloppy joe’s! We let jack attempt to blow out the candles but at first he seemed a little hesitant, so I helped him blow them. After I started cutting the cake he understood the candles, and asked to blow them out on his own. Second, third and forth times were perfect, even though he gave the cake a little shower in the process. He then proceeded to put one of the whoppers in his mouth, spit it out and push it back in the cake. He was so excited to have everyone there, showing jenny, Jason and Natalie his basketball hoop and how he can dunk it. Playing the “what” is this game with jenny, she is the only one that can keep up with him. He actually opened his own presents, starting with a neat block set from grandma (he quickly opened this one), the next present from grandpa James was a jacket that jack hastily opened until he could tell that it was clothes and immediately was non-deserving of his attention. After that he acted skeptical, not wanting to get fooled by clothes, plus he quickly realized that everyone was watching him and he grew a little gun shy. But eventually he opened his new blanket that mom did such a good job on and a small Percy train from grandpa that you shake to make move. It was cool to seem him engaged by the gifts and funny to see his reaction to clothes.

We then all lit the way for Jesus, a second annual tradition we do for jacks birthday. We even braved the cold snowy night to do it correctly. It was an amazing party for Jack and we are so glad that we have such amazing families.  Jack is such an good sport and loves all his family, the blessings we receive are so numerous that there is no way to truly thank our maker for his love.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK
