Jack wants to do everything just like his dad. Whenever he gets up the first thing he asks me is where is dad. He asks me all day about dad and I have to keep telling him that dad is at school and you will get to see him later. Last week, on one of the days that we normally pick Ted up Jack couldn't wait any longer. He went and got his shoes and my shoes then kept pointing to the door saying, "dad, dad." So we left early to go pick up Ted. He sure loves his dad...
Now back to my whole point of this post. Jack copies a lot of what Ted does. Every once in a while he will copy what I do but not that often. Here are a couple of examples:
-When Ted pats me on the bum, so does Jack.
-In church, Ted put his arm around me so Jack did as well.
-Ted lays on the floor on his back to toss a ball so does Jack.
- When Jack is in the shower he turns so his back is hitting the water and wraps his hands around his back and holds his hands.
-Playing video games
-When Ted is in studying, Jack is either banging at his door shouting "dad, dad, dad." Or he is at the desk writing just like dad
-His new thing is to just walk around yelling, "daddy, daddy, daddy." (Ted will just keep repeating "what, what, what."
-First thing in the morning, or from his nap, Jack yells for his dad.
Basically, Jack wants to do anything Dad is doing and wants his dad to be involved in everything he is doing. What could be better then that!
One Saturday, I think about 2 weeks ago, Jack and I took Ted to the park where the weekly park groups are at that we try to go to. Jack loved showing his dad how big he was and all the cool things he can do. I figured out Jack is a lot like me. He will try new things but when he doesn't like them he just ignores them and remains doing the things he prefers more. For instance, Ted got him to go down a covered slide. He didn't complain much, but he just avoided that slide for the ones he liked better. I love finding out the similarities he has between both Ted and I. I knew he was a lot like Ted but I love finding out he is like me too.
